Pastor of the Week

Alan Coler is the pastor of Grace Pointe, a new church that meets at the corner of Main and Higgins downtown. Alan and his wife Debra moved to Missoula in January of 2007. This is their third church plant in the northwest area. Alan began working with a church planting organization called Growing Healthy Churches while finishing his Masters and Doctorate Degrees from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena. The American Baptist Churches of the Northwest contacted GHC and asked Alan and his wife to come to Missoula to do this church plant.

decision to leave home is in part because how he views the materialism of his
family. He needs very little and is
satisfied to drive a very old Datsun B-210 that his mother is embarrassed to
have her son seen in. Leaving all the
stuff behind is part of the adventure for young Christopher. The Prodigal in Luke 15 has a completely
different point of view. He wants to
leave home. He has adventure on his mind
also but he wants to take everything he can with him. He says, “Father, give me the share of the
property that will belong to me.”
