What Seeds Are You Planting?
By Pastor David Larson
Many people in Missoula love to garden in the summer months. Some of those gardens are well tended and healthy while others are neglected and full of weeds. All gardeners plant various kinds of seeds to get the crop they desire. Each seed produces it's own type of plant. It would be wild and strange if you planted radish seeds but got oranges. Or carrots and got beets. Something would be wrong. The kind of seed you plant determines the crop you will harvest. If you don't like the crop you're getting, plant different seeds.

The same is true in our lives. A Kingdom principle is what you sow, you'll reap. If you're planting seeds of love and kindness, that's what you'll harvest. If you plant seeds of anger or cruelty, that's what you'll harvest. Each seed produces after it's own kind. The Bible says, "Sow the wind and reap the whirlwind.

Jesus spoke a parable about seeds being sown and He said, "The farmer went out to sow the seed." When He explained the parable, we find out the seed is the Word of God. It works a couple different ways. First, the seed is sown in our lives and produces a crop. Then we take the Word and go out and sow it and it also produces a crop. Let's receive the seed of the Word in our lives and then go out and sow the Word into others. It's not only in words but also in our actions.

Over the next few days, we'll look at the parable of the sower.

Have an awesome day!
